This past weekend, we returned to one of our favorite Houston spots—POST—for the spring edition of Markets for Makers.
POST Houston, with its inspiring architecture, diverse food court, and expansive rooftop offering panoramic views of the city skyline, has always been a go-to destination for us. The venue’s vibrant atmosphere and commitment to community engagement made it the perfect setting for this curated market.
Held on May 17–18, 2025, the event brought together over 100 local and regional artisans, makers, and small businesses. Attendees enjoyed interactive DIY stations, photo-worthy installations, and a diverse selection of handmade goods ranging from home décor and fashion to art and self-care products. The market’s emphasis on supporting local talent and fostering community connections resonated deeply with the ethos of POST Houston.

A Curated Celebration of Creativity
Handmade by gongyi
My personal favorite was Handmade by GongYi Studio. Their handcrafted ceramics, inspired by Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetics, featured whimsical animal-shaped bells reminiscent of Studio Ghibli’s enchanting creations. Each piece radiated a sense of serene artistry. What’s not to love?!

By Kaia Shop
Among the many standout fashion finds, By Kaia Shop offered a refreshing take on modern minimalism. This Houston-based brand blends elevated basics with sustainable materials, creating timeless pieces that feel both chic and responsible. Think colorful prints, south but modern vibes and a quiet confidence that doesn’t need to shout to stand out. For conscious shoppers with an eye for detail and lasting style, By Kaia delivers the kind of wardrobe staples you’ll reach for again and again.

Jessa the Artist
As a photographer and music lover, I was instantly drawn to Jessa the Artist. Her textile-based artwork reimagines iconic pop album covers—from Beyoncé to The Weeknd—entirely in fabric and embroidery. Each piece is a handcrafted homage to modern music culture, bursting with color, texture, and personal flair. Her work bridges nostalgia, pop art, and fiber artistry in a way that feels fresh and culturally sharp. You’ll want one on your wall, whether you’re a Swiftie, a Beyhive, into watermelon sugar or more expresso enthusiast, just dive into this bold visual storytelling.

The Social Dawg
As a dog owner, I was drawn to The Social Dawg’s collection of pet accessories. Their handcrafted leashes and bandanas combine functionality with fashion, ensuring our furry friends step out in style.
Clay by Yelitsa
Yelitsa’s booth immediately caught my eye with its vibrant display of polymer clay jewelry. Her pieces are a delightful mix of pop-art flair and meticulous craftsmanship, featuring bold colors and intricate designs that exude a joyful, girly aesthetic.

Tea Please Tea
Tea enthusiasts would appreciate Tea Please Tea’s commitment to health-conscious brews. Offering blends that are sugar-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and non-GMO, their teas promise both flavor and peace of mind.
Clay House Candles
Another charming surprise was Clay House Candles, whose stand stood out with a playful, almost edible aesthetic. Their signature? Hand-poured soy candles shaped like trendy café drinks—think Matcha lattes, iced coffee, and bubble tea—complete with whipped-cream-like wax toppings. It’s equal parts whimsical and olfactory delight, perfect for gifting or adding a sweet touch to any interior. These aren’t just candles, they’re conversation starters.
Tamolipéka
For those seeking a culinary kick, Tamolipéka’s range of hot sauces stood out. Rooted in Mexican tradition, their sauces bring authentic heat and flavor to any dish.
The POST Experience
Beyond the market, POST Houston itself is a destination worth visiting. With its innovative architecture, diverse food court, and expansive rooftop offering panoramic views of the Houston skyline, it’s a space that invites exploration and relaxation.
The Makers Market at POST Houston was a testament to the city’s thriving creative community. It offered a platform for artisans to showcase their talents and for visitors to connect with the stories behind each handcrafted item. I left feeling inspired and eager to return for future events.
